A great day for a long run

It’s a clear, crisp 70 degrees in Kansas City.

Yeah, you read right. S-E-V-E-N-T-Y degrees.

Oh yeah, baby!

It’s a 14-mile LSD day for me, and I can’t wait to lace up the shoes and shove off. I’ll hit the Little Blue Trail around noon at Old Lexington Road just south of U.S. 24, and Kate will join me for the last half of the run.

I’m equally excited to try my new Saucony Kinvaras on a long route. I’ve logged about 10 miles in them — and those on two short runs. Reviews claim their support and cushioning are preserved in their ultra-light weight, and today I’ll test them for myself.

I hope your weekend plans include runs today and tomorrow. With projected highs of 74 and 73, it doesn’t get much better.

Happy running!
